Georgia DOE Parent Survey of students with disabilities

The Parent Satisfaction Survey helps the state Department of Education understand parents’ perception of their engagement between the local school and themselves.  The 2017 Parent Survey, available in English and Spanish, has just 10 questions and is open to all families of students with disabilities in the state.  Please make your voice heard and complete the survey today. The survey will remain open through April 15, 2017.

LEA Parental Involvement Letter

  • January 24, 2017

  • Dear Parents/Guardians, Faculty, Staff, and Community Stakeholders:

  • In support of strengthening student academic achievement, Taylor County School District receives Title I, Part A funds and therefore must jointly develop with, agree on with, and distribute to parents of participating children a written parental involvement policy that contains information required by Section 1118(a)(2) of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA). The policy establishes the Local Educational Agency (LEA’s) expectation for parental involvement and describes how the LEA will implement a number of specific parental involvement activities, and it is incorporated into the LEA’s plan submitted to the Georgia Department of Education.

  • The plan sets forth various actions, strategies and interventions utilized across all federally and state-funded programs to sustain and support the attainment of high levels of achievement by students, especially those at risk of school failure. Taylor County School District will put into operation programs, activities, and procedures for the involvement of parents in all of its schools with Title I, Part A programs. These programs, activities, and procedures will be planned and operated with meaningful consultation with parents of participating children.

  • As stakeholders in our school system, I am writing to invite you to participate in the writing and revision of the LEA plan for the 2016-17 school year. Please plan to convene on one of the dates below at the central office located at 23 Mulberry Street Butler, Georgia.
